- The Sub Fire -
Stop Points
11 basic stop points for preventing fire spread into Square Deal Recordings & Supplies from the rear (Pismo Street)
- A hose through The Sub front door to the right onto the merchandise clearly seen burning in the videos would have prevented the wall burning through into Square Deal.
- A hose, even on a stationary mount, through the 100 Pismo Street exit door along the back wall of The Sub would have prevented fire burning into Square Deal.
- A fireman in the beaded curtain room (which never burned) would have stopped the burn through safely and easily. (A fireman could also safely fight the fire in The Sub main room from this spot.)
- A fireman inside Square Deal (when not on fire) would have seen the fire/smoke slowly coming into the poster staging loft and easily stopped it with a hose, (even a garden hose would have done the job).
- A fireman inside the apartment before it caught fire could have easily halted the underside of roof fire.
- A fireman outside the apartment, (after removing the drop ceiling tiles before the fire reached the apartment — almost two hours), could have put water through the main room window and completely stopped the fire at the roof line thus no main dock fire and no comic locker fire.
- A fireman inside Square Deal at rear entrance (150 Pismo Street) could have stopped the fire at the main dock wall.
- A fireman outside putting a hose through the 9-foot wide roll-up door could reach all of the main dock and stop the fire there, (no comic locker fire).
- A fireman on the side dock could have easily stopped the fire from entering the comic locker and the side dock (limiting the fire to parts of main dock only).
- Inside Square Deal, a fire coming from the rear forward could easily be fought from the Higuera Street side of the interior firewall to prevent the fire from going forward.
- The front of Square Deal had over two hours for SLO City FD leadership to deploy a team with a hose to defend the firewall by The Sub office.
